Day of Rest – The Fferyllt

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 30th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

This card shows us how to walk our path in a relaxed and confident way….with the ability to deal with stressful situations in a philosophical, detached way.”

The Fferyllt is about allowing “our awareness to flow naturally between inner an outer, between using our everyday common sense and using our intuition, our inner senses”.

I see this as very positive, since this alchemical blending, this approach as my ideal for the new year.

So the message in relation to the position in the spread must be about being able to intuitively respond to whatever I meet on my path in a well tempered way.

Day of Nymphs – Strength

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 29th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

This card encourages us to connect to our playful side, our inner child and how best to cultivate this aspect of ourselves.”

Strength.

Without any exertion this lady is controlling the wild boar.

“The woman represents the Power of The Goddess within us, who is able to unite our animal instincts and the power of our sexuality and life force, Nwyfre, with the strength of our awareness and compassion”.

I think this mean that I have strength in me to be both powerful and playful according to the circumstances at the moment.

For fun, I showed the card to my husband – saying she is me and this you – pointing at the boar. He liked the idea of being the boar very much.

Feast of Alcyone – 5 of Cups

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 28th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

This card gives us a personal inner message – one that speaks directly to our heart and spirit.”

This card is about loss.

I think it tells me about what I fear the most – because I know what it means and how it feels to loose someone. A father. A friend. That feeling of loosing and being abandoned will forever be a part of me.

But it also tells me – as this card always do – to focus on the two upstanding cups.

Birth of Freyja – 6 of Swords

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 28th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

“This card points to issues of love, luck, artistic and creative expression and female wisdom.”

Whereas the foregoing card seems to be about how I can nurture and take care of my family and friends – this card is more about the conditions for me to take care of my Self . The 6 of swords is a about a journey (of consciousness), about solace and about healing. So I have to take a journey of healing of solace of my body, soul and spirit to be able to  and connect to love, creativity and female wisdom within myself.

And I know exactly what this journey is about.

Yuletide, Kwanzaa – Star

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 26th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

“This card shows us how to express nurturance, to attend to our families and to express the protective energy within us towards others.”

The Star – one of my favourites. And in the DruidCraft Tarot she is excellent and extraordinary beautiful.

The meanings for this card are healing, hope, intuition, tranquility, the Goddess.

The message of the Star – according to the book – is “Inner and outer is connected in perfect harmony. All you need to is to be. Intuition flows like a bright stream”.

So in relation to the meaning of the draw of this day it means – just be. Don’t try harder. I heal, nuture and protect my family – just by being.

I’m very confident and happy right now.

Festival of Life, Christmas – Princess of Swords

Princess of Swords

Princess of Swords

“This card shows us how to connect directly with Spirit.”

The book points to a new phase in my intellectual life – “a new impulse to learn and grow , or a fresh viewpoint, that is just dawning”.

Something new is happening in 2009 – that has both something to do with my spiritual life and with communication and verbalizing. And maybe be serious about writing and thereby connect to Spirit – or Inspiration.

Feast of Mothers, Christmas Eve – 8 of Wands

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 25th, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

“This card shows how we can connect with the spirits of our ancestors for communion and to ask for wisdom and guidance. It is also a time for Christians to reflect on the birth of Christ”

“Go with the flow”. The Wisdom and Guidance is about accepting what is and appreciating what is coming towards me from the stream of time with joy and entusiasm.

Hopi Time of Renewal – 5 of Pentacles

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 23rd, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

“This card indicates the best way for us to seek purification and renewal, and to build tolerance for others”.

The Book says Loss and Dissolution.

I think of the saying “Less is more”. Since this is about Pentacles and thereby about the material world, I’ll have to purify and renew myself by achieving less material stuff, buying less material things. Avoid getting caught up in the ten thousand things, self isolation, self chosen Temperance. Actually I thought about the Fferyllt – or Temperance – while and after shuffling – and that card was right above 5 of Pentacles. But the fact that it was this card and not the Fferyllt  points to me that this is not that self chosen after all – there is a tone of emergency and severity about this path.

The Time of Beth – Princess of Wands

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 22nd, 2008 by Kristine Gazel
Princess of Wands

The DruidCraft Princess of Wands - with a pink tulip

“This card points to the inner blocks and resistance that is holding us back from following our dreams.”

Funny – this is card 11 of the Wands, following Hermit IX and 10 of Wands.

I do not use reversals – so to me the up right card always indicates the full spectrum of possible meanings. Here – I think – what is blocking me is to want too much, to wish to do and to initiate too much, and then to be confused and indecesive by all life’s possibilities – resulting in too many beginnings – but too few things being completed.

Maybe this Princess is also pointing to a fear of actually achieving my full potential. “It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us” as Nelson Mandela has said.

Yule – Winter Solstice – 10 of Wands

Posted in DruidCraft Tarot, Journal on December 21st, 2008 by Kristine Gazel

“This card shows us how best to connect to the Light within and without – it symbolizes the Birth of the Sun”.

Ten of Wands.

There is things I have to let go, before I can fully appreciate the Light.

But somehow it has also to do with the end of this cyclus (the shortest day in the year) – and the beginning of something new.
I have to let the burden of the old year off of my shoulders to start a new.
According to the book the tens are connected with the Fool and his mistletoe, The Magician and the Wheel and its “cyclical turning of the wheel of life”.

Funny – in the Tarot Wisdom book by Rachel Pollack the Hermit also symbolizes time, the year getting old in December and limping toward rebrth in January – followed by the Wheel.

As if the cards themselves are pointing to the cyclic nature of the spread and the magic of this time of year for me. As they are saying – be aware of the turning of the wheel and let things go – to let the Light shine.
